Cole Troxell

General Manager, Baja Bean Co., Staunton

Cole Troxell is a lifelong VA resident most of which has been in the Shenandoah Valley. He completed his grade school education in Augusta County and has his B.S. from Mary Baldwin University in Sociology & Peacemaking and Conflict Resolution.

Having transitioned during his time spent in Chicago, Cole has returned to the valley to be an advocate and mouthpiece for the rural LGBTQIA Community. Having served as a liaison for Whole Foods Market in helping hire and develop queer folks he hopes to bring those resources to the Shenandoah Valley.  He has peer mentorship and development skills through his time spent volunteering with Chicago House (a nonprofit that helps house, find professional placement and resume building for trans/non binary individuals).

Currently the GM at Baja Bean Co. in downtown Staunton, Cole’s passions include cooking, mentorship, leadership development and advocacy within the workplace and at the Shenandoah LGBTQ Center.  He hopes to instill in his nieces and nephews that importance of community engagement, visibility, compassion and the importance of diversity.
