Trans Health Fund
RAISING MONEY | RAISING AWARENESS | RAISING SPIRITS
The Shenandoah LGBTQ Center maintains a Trans Health Fund to provide binders, tucking tape, packers, wigs, and other needed items for those seeking a non-surgical way of altering their gender presentation. The fund exists especially for those for whom purchasing these items is a financial hardship.
The Center has conducted extensive research on the quality, durability, and affordability of the products we award. Whenever possible, we source products from LGBTQIA+-owned businesses. Once you have filled out the application for an award and been approved, a list of products will be emailed to you so you may specify size, color, style, etc. within the limits of the options we provide.
Awards will be made in the order they are received, to the extent that the fund balance will allow. Most awards do not exceed $80. Eligible recipients must be at least 14 years old and reside in Augusta, Rockingham, and Rockbridge Counties or any cities therein. The Shenandoah LGBTQ Center reserves the right to issue or deny awards at their discretion.
Guidelines for appropriate usage of these products will be distributed via email or hard copy to recipients. Recipients are expected to comply with best practices in the use of these products to support their overall health and safety. The recipient takes sole responsibility for any adverse effects from the usage of these products.
